Dodo Pub Co. takes on ninth venue
Dodo Pub Co. will rename its new site The Slow & Steady.
The White House in Grandpont, Oxford, is the latest pub to join the growing estate of the Dodo Pub Co.
Its fourth pub in the city brings the Dodo portfolio to nine venues in total, with the well-known pub on Abingdon Road set for a new identity that will pay homage to its architect Henry Hare, who is also responsible for designing The Oxford Town Hall.
Reopening early September, the free-of-tie pub will be renamed The Slow & Steady. The operator has plans for 15 beers on tap.
"We’re excited to launch our fourth Oxford site in a new part of town," says Dodo co-founder Leo Johnson. "In standard Dodo style, you can expect an exciting revamp of the interiors and garden that will be both sympathetic to the architecture of the building, while also bringing that Dodo Vibe. We look forward to continuing where [former operator] Tap Social left off; creating an awesome neighbourhood pub with a strong sense of community."
Award-winners
Dodo recently celebrated two County Winner titles at the 2024 National Pub & Bar Awards, with The All Inn and The Bottle of Sauce taking the accolades for Bristol and Glouscestershire respectively.
At The Slow & Steady, the company-wide menu will be introduced, offering Dodo burgers and authentic slow-rise Neapolitan pizzas, which saw the group selected as finalists at the 2023 National Pizza Awards.
