Marston's announces new chief financial officer
Marston’s has announced the appointment of Stephen Hopson as its new chief financial officer.

Following what the business calls a "comprehensive search and selection process", pub operator Marston’s has announced the appointment of Stephen Hopson as its new chief financial officer (CFO).
Hopson will succeed Hayleigh Lupino, who is leaving the company to pursue a new opportunity outside of the group.
Joining from Topps Tiles plc, where he has served on the executive team and board as CFO since November 2020, Hopson has held senior leadership roles across the leisure and retail sectors, including as director of Central Finance for Western Europe at Molson Coors Beverage Company, and five years of finance director roles at Travis Perkins plc.
Prior to that, he spent 11 years at Mitchells & Butlers plc, where he was responsible for investor relations among other functions.
"On behalf of the whole Marston’s team, I’m delighted to welcome Stephen to the business," says Justin Platt, chief executive officer of Marston’s PLC. "He has a wealth of experience which will benefit the group as we drive forward with our strategy as a leading pure-play hospitality business, delivering increasing returns for our shareholders.
"Once again I’d like to express my sincere thanks to Hayleigh for her many years of service to Marston’s and wish her every success in her new role."
Hopson will join Marston's on 8 September 2025.
