Dodo Pub Co. announces eighth pub

Dodo Pub Co. is set to take over The Sudeley Arms in Cheltenham.

Cheltenham is set to receive a new-look pub, after an award-winning operator announced the takeover of a venue in the town.

Dodo Pub Co., which mainly operates within Oxfordshire, will move into The Sudeley Arms in Cheltenham, increasing its portfolio to eight pubs.

It will be the second site in the town for Dodo, joining the Bottle of Sauce on Ambrose Street. The Sudeley Arms will be renamed The Airs & Graces, a nod to Cheltenham’s world-famous races.

"We’ve been looking for an eighth site for a while and expanding in Cheltenham seemed like the natural choice for us," says Dodo co-founder Leo Johnson (pictured right with co-founder Fred Samengo-Turner). "We’ve always loved the vibe, and with this pub being a slightly different offering to its sister pub The Bottle of Sauce, we believe The Airs & Graces will be a great addition to the neighbourhood and more broadly, the town itself."

Located on the corner of Prestbury Road and Portland Square, The Airs & Graces will open its doors in late March 2024, with refurbishment works due to begin immediately.

The project will transform the venue into Dodo's recogniseable style, which helped the pub operator win the Oxfordshire Pub & Bar of the Year in 2023, with its Oxford site The Rusty Bicycle.
