Urban Pubs plans for 10th birthday celebrations

A premium pub operator based in London is celebrating its 10th anniversary at venues across the capital this week, marking the occasion by offering drinks at 2014 prices.

Urban Pubs & Bars, which operates 42 sites and employs over 1,000 people, is the city's biggest independent pub group.

The company has achieved success despite the once-in-a-generation challenges of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis, by choosing to focus on the needs of local communities.

Earlier this year, the group announced group EBITDA of £6.4m for the financial year ended April 30, 2023, an improvement of 11% vs 2023.

The group saw like-for-like sales increase by 17% and turnover increased by almost 60% to £52.2m.

Tenth birthday extravaganza

To mark the company’s milestone success, on Wednesday 22 May, drinks will be slashed to prices from ten years ago. All sites will also throw all-day parties with music, fashion and games from 2014 as they raise a glass to Urban's 10th anniversary.

Chris Hill, managing director of the group, comments: "The past 10 years for Urban Pubs & Bars have seen exceptional growth. The estate has doubled in size since Covid and as we now look to the future we want to double again over the next four to five years. We have built a great team so that we are able to move quickly to open new sites as soon as they become available."
