A Cotswolds inn has come under the new stewardship of Tom Hartley Junior, a well-known collector car dealer.
The Greedy Goose in Chastleton, in the north west of the Cotswolds, had been owned by hands-off investors since 2006 and run by a local management team.
This is the first hospitality business Hartley Junior has purchased.
“I’ve spent many years operating in the collector car market, but this is my first time taking on a pub," he says. "I’m really looking forward to getting to know this local business and expanding my knowledge of the hospitality sector. We’ve seen over the last year how much people value the opportunity to get away and get closer to nature, albeit with some home comforts. I’m excited to see what this opportunity brings. Initially, we’re going to close the pub for redevelopment to bring it in line with the standards of everything else under my business umbrella.”
The Greedy Goose, which accommodates up to 100 table covers alongside a 25 pitch camping site, including five glamping pods, has been sold by Colliers from an asking price of £700,000.
