Campaign for Real Ale announces new chairman
Ash Corbett-Collins has been elected to lead CAMRA.
One of the leading voices for UK beer drinkers has announced the appointment of a new chairman.
The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has revealed that Ash Corbett-Collins has been appointed, following an election that took place at a meeting of the campaign’s national executives.
Vice chairman since last November, Corbett-Collins is a long-standing national executive member who was first elected to the board of the campaign in 2018. He replaces Nik Antona, who stood down due to ill health after a five-and-a-half-year tenure.
"This is an exciting time to be taking on the role as the chairman of the Campaign for Real Ale," says Corbett-Collins. "Holding the vice chairman position for the last 10 months – along with other roles over the last six years – has given me the experience and knowledge to lead the organisation.
"Our valued and loyal membership means we can work across all nations, whether this is campaigning for change, supporting our events and festivals, or protecting our cherished pubs and access to cask beer. I want to work together to continue to bring about change at a time where pubs, clubs, taprooms and breweries are facing uncertain times."
The process to elect a new vice chair is now underway, with the result expected in the autumn.
