Adventure Bar founder reveals new concept

Tobias Jackson will launch a new rooftop bar concept to replace Bar Elba.

One of the co-founders of the Adventure Bar Group has announced his first project since leaving the business in 2022.

Tobias Jackson, who founded the London-based bar group that was bought by Nightcap in May 2021, will launch a new rooftop bar concept to replace Bar Elba, a former Adventure Bar site in London's Waterloo.

Circe’s Rooftop Bar, named after the mythical goddess, will launch over the May bank holiday weekend on Friday 24 May.

It will aim to 'transport guests into a Mediterranean summer' through food, drink, live music, guest DJ sets and brunches.

More about the site

"In my 20 years of launching and managing bars, I have never been more excited for what this one will offer," says Jackson. "Creating this concept has been extremely fun, and I think that really comes through in the atmosphere we are trying to create, raising the profile of the food, drinks and service compared to what we’ve done in the past."

Circe’s Rooftop Bar will be based on the four-story Mercury House on Waterloo Road and has a capacity of 550 across three areas.

Jackson will lead Circe's team alongside Lee Ramskill, a former Adventure Bar general manager and operations manager at Nightcap.
