The Botanist to appear on First Dates

The Botanist in Bath is to appear in Channel 4’s dating series.

The Botanist in Bath is to appear in the latest series of Channel 4’s dating series, First Dates.

The bar-and-restaurant brand owned by the New World Trading Company has an aligned target audience with First Dates, and the feature could well help continue to grow The Botanist's reputation as a ‘date night’ spot.

Filming of the new series is currently underway at the venue as maître d’ Fred Sirieix and his team of waiters help to set the scene for a new line-up of blind daters to find romance, with the help of barman Merlin Griffiths.

"This activity provides us with a unique opportunity to showcase one of our beautifully designed venues as well as our carefully curated food and drink offering to thousands of target customers across the country," says Pollyanna Hall, marketing director at New World Trading Company.

"The venue, with its rich history and romantic biophilic design, lends itself perfectly to the show and we can’t wait to see the blind daters enjoying their time in the restaurant on air."

The Botanist’s Bath site is located inside the Grade II-listed Octagon Chapel, built in 1766 and known to have been frequented by Jane Austen.

New World Trading Company expects to open a further three venues under The Botanist brand this year, with development currently underway for a flagship site in Edinburgh, expected to open to the public later this summer.
