The Botanist to launch first Scotland site

New World Trading Company is to bring its concept The Botanist to Scotland for the first time.

New World Trading Company (NWTC) is to bring its concept The Botanist to Scotland for the first time, with the award-winning brand opening within St James Quarter in Edinburgh.

NWTC has taken a 11,400 sq ft space in St Andrews Hall for The Botanist's botanical-themed interiors, quirky cocktails and hanging kebabs.

Doors are expected to open later this year, although an exact opening date is yet to be confirmed.

The Botanist will join the St James Quarter hospitality offering that already includes Bonnie & Wild Scottish Marketplace, alongside dining brands such as Wingstop and Bross Bagels.

“Bringing our unique concept to Scotland for the first time is hugely exciting moment for the business," says Natasha Waterfield, chief operating officer at NWTC. “Finding the right space in any location is paramount and St James Quarter is an innovative development that aligns with our brand and proposition. We can’t wait for the residents of Edinburgh, as well as the many tourists that visit the area, to experience our one-of-a-kind offer at The Botanist.”

The Botanist in Sheffield was crowned the best pub in the UK at the 2017 National Pub & Bar Awards. Entries for the 2022 event close on 27 March. Operators can enter the awards here.
