Parched opens sixth London pub

Parched has opened its sixth venue in Telegraph Hill.

Parched, the south east London pub company, has opened its sixth venue with the arrival of the Earl of Derby in Telegraph Hill.

Run by Shane Ranasinghe, Michael Robinson, Isaac Tooby and Neil Watson, Parched has restored many of the original features to honour the Earl of Derby's history and tradition.

Split across two floors, the ground has 150 covers while the upstairs has 80 and is available for private hire. The pub also has a west-facing pub garden, offering plenty of sunshine throughout the afternoon and evening for an additional 50 covers.

The space will also become a hub for music, with a programme of DJs every weekend and a range of events in the pub's function room upstairs.

Taking over the kitchen is Gengelly's, a new concept by former Good as Gold chefs George Genn and Laurence Pengelly. The menu draws inspiration from their favourite restaurants Trullo, The Spurstowe, Tiella’s, St. John, Brat, Garden Museum Café and Hill & Szrok.

Parched also runs The White Horse and The Montpelier in Peckham, The Railway in Streatham, The Roebuck in Borough and Grove House Tavern in Camberwell.
