Pub operators wanted for charity football match

Charity initiative Foodservice Football will return on 22 June 2023.

Foodservice Football, organised by Pub & Bar parent company H2O Publishing, will return on 22 June 2023, six years since its debut.

Operators from across the pub, bar, restaurant and foodservice markets are being encouraged to sign-up to play in the match, which is raising money for Bowel Cancer UK.

The first event, which raised funds for the victims of the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing, was hailed as a great success, but the Covid-19 pandemic prolonged the hosting of a follow-up fixture.

This time, Foodservice Football will be held at Bromley FC in memory of Morag Wilson, a much-missed team member of H2O Publishing, who was tragically lost to bowel cancer in 2019. She was well-known and loved across the industry.

As well as the football match itself, there will be a bar with a DJ and some great raffle prizes to be won. All proceeds will go to Bowel Cancer UK.

"Morag was such a genuinely kind-hearted and warm person that I’m sure her memory remains vivid for everyone who knew her," says Henry Norman, an editor at H2O Publishing. "There really was no other choice when it came to who to honour when planning this event, and we really hope you can help us to do so, all while having some fun and supporting a great cause."

If any pub operators or suppliers are interested in playing, supporting or offering a raffle prize, please go to foodservicefootball.co.uk. Alternatively, you can contact Dan Hillman on [email protected] or 07833 248 788 for further information.
