Be At One crowns its best bartender
Be At One has announced the winner of its annual Bartender Challenge.
Be At One has crowned Adam Jennings as the winner of its annual Bartender Challenge.
Jennings (pictured), who works Be At One in Berkeley Square in London, has worked for the Stonegate-owned business for seven years. He saw off competition from 260 other bartenders within the company.
This competition ran for five months, starting in each Be At One bar, where bartenders competed in pouring skills, specific knowledge, speed, spirit and brand knowledge and their guest interaction.
“Our Be At One bartenders are really at the top of their game and this competition gave them the chance to put their showmanship and expertise on show," says Helen Charlesworth, managing director of Stonegate Group. "The contest is about more than just skills, at Be At One we hire personalities not skills and at events like these those personalities shine through.”
The winners of the contest, who all got a share of the collective £8,000 prize pot, were:
- Best Bartender – Adam Jennings, Berkeley Square
- Best Newcomer – Jack Powell, Hammersmith
- Fastest Bartender – Cassie McLeman, Hammersmith
- Best Pourer – Adam Jennings, Berkeley Square
- Most Knowledgeable – Stevie Burton, Norwich
- Best Bar – Norwich
