Two pubs earn first Michelin stars
The Bridge Arms in Kent and The Dog and Gun Inn in Cumbria have both picked up their first Michelin stars.
The Bridge Arms in Kent and The Dog and Gun Inn in Cumbria have both picked up their first Michelin stars, as the fine dining organisation revealed its UK list for 2022.
The new accolades mean that a total of 18 pubs now hold at least one Michelin star across the UK. Tom Kerridge's The Hand and Flowers in Marlow is the only pub to hold two.
Daniel and Natasha Smith’s Kent pub, The Bridge Arms, has been open just 10 months. The husband-and-wife team's first pub, The Fordwich Arms, was awarded a Michelin star nine months after it opened back in 2017.
The Shepherd Neame-owned pub The Sportsman (oysters pictured above), run by brothers Stephen and Phil Harris, has now retained its star since 2008.
