BII launches search for new chair

The British Institute of Innkeeping has begun the search for its new chair.

One of the UK's leading pub trade bodies is on the hunt for a new chair to help lead the organisation.

The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) has begun the search for its new chair, with current chair Mark Robson (pictured) stepping down later this year.

Following a successful two terms, the BII says Robson has provided invaluable support to current CEO Steve Alton and previous CEO Mike Clist, helping to shape the BII into the organisation it is today.

The BII is now looking for its next chair, a voluntary position that oversees the board of trustees, made up of pub operators and industry experts, guiding and supporting the CEO and senior leadership team.

A full job description and details on how to apply can be found here

Interviews will be held online initially on Monday 23 June and Tuesday 24 June 2025, with in person interviews to follow at the BII offices in Fleet on Tuesday 1 July 2025.

The BII currently has 13,000 individual members running premises across the UK, predominantly tenanted, leased, managed and freehold pubs.
