Bournemouth welcomes back The Libertine

The Libertine has reopened its doors following a refurbishment from Young’s.

The Libertine pub, a local favourite in Bournemouth's Westbourne, has reopened its doors following a refurbishment from owner Young's.

With a rustic charm inspiration, the interiors have been transformed to create an elegant and welcoming space for all seasons. There are now dark wooden tables, rugs, artwork and a new log burner.

In the kitchen, head chef Mark Hubbard has created a new menu featuring seasonal dishes which showcase the best of British ingredients from the south of England.

Serving up twists on pub classics, there are small plates of south coast market scampi, Devon crab and prawn toast with a spiced plum and ginger jam. Main courses include Hampshire venison and squash curry with wild rice, and a West Country short rib served with parmesan hash browns and a winter slaw.

The site is being overseen by general manager Richard Carpenter.

Also at the pub is a former working forge, dating back to 1851, which has been transformed into a private dining and private events space.
