Michelin pub reveals cottage accommodation

The Bridge Arms, a Michelin-starred pub in Kent, is now able to offer overnight stays.

The Bridge Arms, a Michelin-starred pub in Kent, is now able to offer overnight stays, following the addition of a three-bedroom guest cottage located just a couple of doors down from the venue.

Run by Dan and Natasha Smith, operators of The Fordwich Arms, which also boasts a Michelin star, The Bridge Arms is a Grade II-listed coaching inn that dates back to the 16th century.

Its new cottage in the village of Bridge includes original period features such as wooden ceiling beams and a large open fireplace. The cottage has recently been refurbished to include three guest bedrooms, underfloor heating, living area, kitchen and large rear garden. The cottage is available to book separately or as part of a package that includes dinner at The Bridge Arms and an overnight stay.

What's on the menu

The Bridge Arms features a dining room, bar, original brick fireplace, plus a large garden for summer. It offers a daily a la carte menu, plus Sunday roasts and a £35 set menu at lunch Wednesday to Friday and at dinner Wednesday to Thursday.

Its seasonal menus focus on provenance, showcasing the best of local Kentish ingredients, sourced direct from local farms and producers. Located only 10 miles from the coast, the menu showcases fresh, local seafood as well as fruit, veg, meat and poultry from the surrounding Kent countryside.

Starters include a Welsh rarebit tart with a confit Burford brown egg yolk and apple; Chicken liver parfait with muscat grapes, sauternes jelly and toasted brioche; and hand dived scallop, topped with garlic butter and served with a freshly baked seaweed loaf.

Many of the dishes at The Bridge Arms are cooked over charcoal, including Native lobster, carrot, pumpkin seed and vadouvan spices; celeriac, hen of the woods mushroom and smoked butter sauce; a whole monkfish tail for two to share; and grilled rib of beef with hand cut chips and smoked bone marrow.
