Metropolitan Pub Company opens latest site in Bath
The Milsom is set to reopen as a bar and restaurant complete with nine luxury hotel rooms.
A grade II-listed Georgian building on Milsom street in Bath’s city centre is set to reopen as a bar and restaurant complete with nine luxury hotel rooms.
The Metropolitan Pub Company site, owned by Greene King, was once a former bank and previously a Loch Fyne restaurant. It will reopen as The Milsom on Tuesday 2 May having undergone a refurbishment.
The latest opening takes the group to 77 sites in the UK, as part of its strategy to increase its national footprint.
This follows the acquisition of Glaswegian sites The Ubiquitous Chip and Hanoi Bike Shop. Over the past 12 months, Metropolitan has also opened Langbourns, a conversion of Loch Fyne City, as well as gastropubs The Anchorage in Poole and Little Rose in Cambridge.
How the refurbished bedrooms will look
New look
The Milsom will feature two tone timber flooring, while crackled leathers and contemporary artwork will sit alongside the original features of the building. The existing traditional bar front will be utilised and has been relocated into a more prominent location, becoming the focal point of the room.
Newly designed bedrooms will also be unveiled in May.
