Provenance Inns readies Harrogate addition

The Coach & Horses is set to return after a two-year hiatus

The Coach & Horses, a historic Harrogate pub with a history dating back as far as 1830, is set to return after a two-year hiatus.

Having been acquired by Provenance Inns, The Coach & Horses will join a portfolio of inns and hotels located around the north, including The Punch Bowl Inn in Marton-cum-Grafton, which was recently named Yorkshire and the Humber Pub & Bar of the Year.

The refurbishment of its latest pub has seen first floor being transformed into a dining room, offering views of the Stray.

The pub will offer a selection of pies, with the option to eat in or take home, while an extensive range of local and international gins will complement the selection of cask ales. The opening will also create 30 new jobs.

"As one of just a handful of Harrogate’s oldest surviving traditional pubs, it’s safe to say that anticipation for the return of The Coach & Horses has been high," says operations manager Chris Cartledge. "We’re pleased to say that meticulous care and attention to detail has been taken to ensure The Coach is subtly modernised, while restoring original features where possible to their best."
