The Alchemist creates first fully edible cocktail

Cocktail bar and restaurant brand The Alchemist has created a cocktail that is completely edible.

Cocktail bar and restaurant brand The Alchemist has created a cocktail that is completely edible, including the vessel.

Aptly named The Edible One, the cocktail consists of Manzana Verde, Avallen Calvados, lime sherbet, salted caramel, apple juice and white chocolate foam. It is served in an edible cup.

The cup is made from natural grains that are biodegradable, 100% vegan and can hold hot and cold liquids for 40 minutes without disintegrating. The vessel has a wafer-like flavour, complimenting the cocktail's taste.

As well as The Edible One, the brand’s new cocktail menu will see the addition of theatrical concoctions such as the T&T, made from tequila, pink grapefruit, lime, tonic, ‘fire mix’ and flash string that’s flamed to resemble a stick of dynamite. The group have updated tweaks to favourite classics like their Nextpresso Martini, an Espresso Martini served with a dark chocolate spoon and bespoke salted caramel caviar.

The Alchemist has launched its new cocktail menu in London, with a roll out planned in May across the country.
