Westfield signs two new experiential drinking concepts

Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City will each see the expansion of experiential drinking and socialising concepts in the coming months.

The Bat & Ball – an Urban Pubs & Bars venue that merges ping pong with drinks and dining – has now signed a permanent lease for their unit on The Street at Westfield Stratford City.

In Q2, Sixes, the social entertainment cricket concept from the founders of Mac & Wild, will open at Westfield London, with both shopping centres venturing into the growing competitive socialising subcategory.

Westfield operator Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield signed over 50 new occupiers across both London sites in 2021, almost half (23) of which sit within the hospitality and competitive socialising sectors.

On the openings, UKHospitality CEO Kate Nicholls, comments: "It's incredibly positive to see such exciting and innovative brands investing in new physical spaces in London, with a number of the first to the UK concepts choosing to launch at Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City. It has been an unprecedently challenging time for the entire hospitality sector, but we've seen from previous economic slumps that hospitality has the potential to outstrip national economic growth and catalyse wider recovery, as consumers continue to cherish the opportunity to socialise together."
