Scholarship provides pathway to higher education

A new scholarship programme will provide a pathway to hospitality courses in further and higher education.

The launch of a new scholarship programme will provide a pathway to hospitality courses in further and higher education across the UK.

The Victor Ceserani Student Memorial Scholarship, established to celebrate the life of catering educationalist Victor Ceserani, will bring together industry and education institutions to provide bursaries of up to £2,000 for students who need assistance with fees, or help with funding uniforms and equipment. The minimum crowdfunding target to support the initiative is £50,000.

It is also hoped that the scholarship will address the challenges faced by the hospitality sector in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has caused significant labour shortages and supply chain issues. The initiative aims to help young people get a foot in the door to the industry, instilling them with the skills and confidence required to pursue a career in the field.

Young people aged 16- to 24-years old and from all walks of life are invited to apply for the programme.
