Young’s is marking the reopening of 144 of its pubs for al fresco drinking and dining with a short film, directed by Emmy award-winner Peter Hamblin.
Entitled ‘A House is Not a Home’, the film (seen below) shows pub culture as an integral part of British life with the messaging that pubs are more than just bricks and mortar.
Through the eyes and reflections of a pub landlady (actress Katie Clarkson-Hill), the similarities between a home and a Young’s pub are communicated while filmed ‘memories’ put the spotlight on typical social activities missed during lockdown.
Viewers are reminded that the pub is like a home, a place for celebrations and commiserations, for break-ups and make-ups, for Sunday roasts and watching sport and for moments spent with friends and family.
“The reopening of pubs across the country, and hospitality in general, is a massive moment after what’s been an incredibly tough year for all of us," says Patrick Dardis, CEO of Young’s. "We hope this film captures the great British public’s love for the pub and the place that pubs have always held at the very heart of their communities as we look forward to a summer of togetherness.
