Wetherspoon joins Zero Carbon Forum

The Zero Carbon Forum has welcomed JD Wetherspoon to its organisation.

The Zero Carbon Forum has welcomed JD Wetherspoon to its organisation, as it continues to build a hospitality industry roadmap to reach net zero carbon.

Joining a number of leading pub and bar operators, Wetherspoon has committed to decarbonising its operations and demonstrate what’s possible when it comes to cutting emissions.

"Wetherspoon continues to work hard to reduce its impact on the environment and we are always looking to do more," says Ben Whitley, finance director at Wetherspoon. "We look forward to working with other organisations within the hospitality sector to plan for a zero carbon future."

The forum builds on 10 years of carbon reduction expertise in hospitality. Leaders from across the sector are working together with industry experts to drive collaborative initiatives and share best practice and insights.

The Zero Carbon Forum will publish its net zero roadmap and establish an official sector position to government this summer, ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in November.
