Tap & Run hires new head chef
The Tap & Run, owned by cricketers Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney, has appointed Andy Goodbourn as its new head chef.
The Tap & Run, owned by cricketers Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney, has appointed Andy Goodbourn as its new head chef, following the departure of Paul Thacker.
Goodbourn joins the Upper Broughton pub from The Nelson in Burton Joyce, where he was a runner-up in the Observer Food Monthly awards 2019 with his classic Sunday roast.
"Stuart and Harry made it really clear that an area that they want to drive the pub forward is Sundays." said Goodbourn. "In addition, I'm looking forward to continuing to develop the menu alongside the directors so that we can offer high quality gastropub food for all the loyal customers once we reopen."
In the meantime, while the industry remains closed due to Covid-19, The Tap & Run is launching a Sunday roast takeaway service from 7 February.
"We thank Paul for his contributions and wish him well," says Broad. "Andy's appointment is very exciting. The Nelson is a fantastic local gastropub and we know Andy will bring with him some amazing food and a great following."
