Admiral Taverns has reached an agreement to acquire a portfolio of 137 pubs from Marston’s PLC.
The nationwide portfolio comprises a mixture of predominately tenanted, leased and retail-agreement sites across England and Wales.
Supported by investors Proprium Capital Partners and C&C Group, the last year has seen Admiral accelerate its growth strategy to expand its estate of community pubs, most recently acquiring 150 pubs from Star Pubs & Bars.
To support the integration of the pubs in the portfolio that currently operate under retail-agreements, the group has formed a partnership with managed operator Helen Standing while it evaluates the longer-term opportunities for these sites.
“I’m very pleased that Helen Standing has agreed to partner with us to support the wider integration programme for some of these pubs,” says Chris Jowsey, chief executive of Admiral Taverns (pictured). “Helen is a highly successful, experienced operator who is well known to our team and we are looking forward to working very closely with her and these pubs.”
