York hotel added to The Inn Collection Group
The Inn Collection Group has secured historic York property The Dean Court Hotel as it continues to expand its pubs with rooms estate across the north of England.
The Grade II-listed building enjoys uninterrupted views over York Minster. Nearby attractions include Jorvik Viking Centre, the historic Shambles and the National Railway Museum.
The 40-bedroom site will begin trading immediately under The Inn Collection Group’s flagship ‘Eat, Drink, Sleep and Explore’ trading brand.
The undisclosed deal takes The Inn Collection Group’s total site count to 25, and is its fifth Yorkshire venue.
The group is continuing to expand its market base further across the county, with further acquisitions in the pipeline.
An unrivalled location
“The Dean Court Hotel is an extraordinary site," says managing director of The Inn Collection Group Sean Donkin. "We are absolutely delighted to be adding this spectacular venue and its team into our collection.
“It matches our pubs with rooms blueprint in every way, offering our expanding customer base an unrivalled location with a phenomenal USP in its proximity to York Minster.
“We have had York in our sights for a considerable time and are looking forward to operating here and welcoming the Dean Court staff team and customers into The Inn Collection Group family.”
The Dean Court Hotel was purchased for an undisclosed figure in a deal negotiated by Colliers with The Inn Collection Group.
Ward Hadaway corporate partner Imogen Holland provided legal advice on the Dean Court acquisition with Method Building Consultancy on pre diligence.
The site will continue trading in line with the group’s food-driven pubs with accommodation model ahead of a sympathetic refurbishment in 2022.
The Dean Court acquisition is the Alchemy-backed group’s sixth purchase of the year as it rolls out a new wave of acquisition and organic growth strategy, supported with banking from OakNorth.
In June the group made its Wearside debut with the opening of The Seaburn Inn on Sunderland seafront.
Elsewhere The Inn Collection Group’s portfolio includes sites in Northumberland, the Lake District, County Durham and Lancashire.
