Surrey pub brings in new exec chef

Daniel Lee has joined The Victoria Oxshott.

A fine dining pub in Oxshott, Surrey, is celebrating its third birthday with the arrival of new executive chef.

Daniel Lee has joined The Victoria Oxshott, followings roles at the likes of senior roles at Warbrook House Hotel and Pennyhill Park Hotel.

The pub is the brainchild of Matt Larcombe, former head chef of The Crown at Bray, and Simon King of Igniting Hospitality.

Since arriving, Lee has collaborated closely with the team on a new bar menu which showcases a selection of elevated British classics that pay homage to traditional flavours while embracing a contemporary twist.

Joining the pub’s signature snacks – including beer battered oysters with seaweed mayonnaise and the Scotch egg with brown sauce – are creations such as home smoked sea trout crumpet with crème fraiche and dill; and pork, honey and mustard sausage roll with smoked ketchup.

Alongside the new bar menu, The Victoria Oxshott has unveiled a new garden bar and dining terrace following an extensive renovation.

Taking its cues from a quintessential English garden, the outdoor area – complete with a wooden pergola – spans across a lower and middle terrace. The restaurant’s garden offers a flower-filled space where guests can enjoy alfresco dining and drinking throughout the warmer months. The middle terrace features an outdoor bar as well as banquet tables and seating for larger parties.
