Urban Pubs & Bars buys East Dulwich site

Urban Pubs & Bars has bought The Herne Tavern in East Dulwich.

Urban Pubs & Bars has announced its latest pub acquisition in the capital, after buying The Herne Tavern in East Dulwich.

The site is an iconic Victorian pub which was built in the mid-19th century, featuring a large beer garden.

Urban Pubs & Bars has already introduced a new food menu. It has purchased the site and plans to continue trading as normal.

This takes the Chris Hill-led business to a tally of 44 London locations, in line with company expansion plans.

"We are delighted to add The Herne in East Dulwich to our growing portfolio," says Hill. "We will continue to offer the excellent food, drink and great service that Urban Pubs & Bars is famous for."

Earlier this year, the business announced group EBITDA of £6.4m for the financial year-ended April 30 2023, an improvement of 11% versus the prior year.

Urban Pubs & Bars was founded in 2014 by Nick Pring and Malc Heap.
