Red Engine shuffles across the pond

Electric Shuffle has opened in New York with a brand-new flagship venue.

The hospitality group behind darts concept Flight Club has debuted its Electric Shuffle brand in New York with a brand-new flagship venue.

Located in the NoMad district, the multi-million-pound investment from Red Engine has transformed a 10,000 sq ft site next to the Virgin Hotel into a new space for shuffleboard fans.

Electric Shuffle’s venues offer cocktails, sharing plates and sourdough pizzas, with the addition of a high-tech and immersive shuffleboard gaming.

Proprietary state-of-the-art camera vision technology tracks and automatically scores every puck, and captures the best moments with live shareable replays delivered to customers' phones.

Set across two floors, the space boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Empire State Building, two bars, 13 shuffleboard play spaces accommodating up to 20 players each, and a capacity of up to 375 people.

Electric Shuffle is one of several British concepts to arrive in New York in recent years, joining Flight Club, The Hoxton hotel and steak restaurant Hawksmoor.

New York is the third US location for the Electric Shuffle brand, adding to Austin and Dallas.

This is a truly momentous moment for the brand," says Steve Moore, CEO and co-founder of Electric Shuffle and Flight Club. "To open a venue in one of the most exciting and cutting-edge cities in the world for hospitality is something which was beyond our wildest dreams when we opened our first venue almost 10 years ago. We’re incredibly proud of the team that helped to get us here."

The addition of Electric Shuffle New York takes the Red Engine and partners' total global estate to 28.
