Another freehold for Heartwood Collection

Heartwood Collection has acquired The Prince of Wales in East Barnet, with the group saying it remains on track to grow to over 60 inns and brasseries by June 2027.  

The latest freehold joins a growing number of acquisitions made by the Alchemy Partners-backed group ever since it rebranded from Brasserie Bar Co to Heartwood Collection in June 2013. 

As East Barnet's last remaining pub, Heartwood Inns (part of the group) will be undertaking a multi-million pound refurbishment to ensure it remains at the heart of the local community for many years to come. 

The refurbishment will see an enhancement of a large bar and dining room with a combined capacity of 150 covers. Outside, the space will be transformed to create a terrace for up to 55 covers.

The acquisition of the pub follows the recent news that Heartwood Inns had acquired The Royal Forest in Epping Forest. With 28 bedrooms, The Royal Forest is scheduled to open in the autumn and will take the group’s room offering to over 175 rooms by the end of 2024. 

Last month, the group opened its first pub with rooms project in The White Horse in Dorking, Surrey.
