Heartwood Collection acquires Cambridge pub
Heartwood Collection has acquired The Lord Byron pub in Trumpington.
Heartwood Collection, the owner of Heartwood Inns and Brasserie Blanc, has acquired The Lord Byron pub in Trumpington, Cambridge.
The acquisition will see the site undergo a significant refurbishment and rebranding, reopening in late 2026 as The Meadow Lark, a 19-bedroom pub with rooms, taking the Heartwood Inns portfolio to 35 sites.
“We are delighted to have acquired The Lord Byron in Trumpington and to be bringing it into the Heartwood family as The Meadow Lark," says Richard Ferrier, CEO of Heartwood Collection (pictured). "Inspired by the beautiful surrounding nature reserve, we look forward to creating a pub that truly reflects its landscape and community, somewhere guests can gather, dine and celebrate for many years to come.”
Taking inspiration from nature
Heartwood says it will draw inspiration from the nearby Trumpington Meadows, a nature reserve alongside the River Cam, as well as the skylark bird, which is native to the area.
The refurbishment will transform the pub’s bar and dining spaces. Guests will be able to order from seasonally changing menus in newly designed internal spaces, alongside an enhanced outdoor space.
The Meadow Lark will be Heartwood's first pub with rooms in Cambridgeshire.
