Sally Abé leaves Public House Group's The Bull

Sally Abé has left her post at gastropub The Bull in Charlbury.

Chef Sally Abé has left her post at gastropub The Bull in Charlbury, after less than a year in post.

During her time working at the Public House Group site, The Bull was named National Pub & Bar of the Year at the National Pub & Bar Awards.

Abé announced the departure via a post on Instagram.

"So some new year news, today is my last day at The Bull," she wrote. "Moving to the Cotswolds was never on my bingo card, but I must admit it's been a brilliant year and I've made so many new friends, learned so much about produce and had the pleasure of working with some wonderful people.

"Something new and very exciting is coming, and it’s close. I can’t wait to share it with you!"

Quite the CV

Abé joined The Bull following her departure from The Pem at Conrad London St. James.

The move to the Public House Group site happened just after Abé's winning performance on 2025's Great British Menu, where she won the banquet starter course.

Her career has seen her at the helm of some of London’s most celebrated kitchens, including The Ledbury, Elystan Street and the Michelin-starred Harwood Arms.

Entries to the 2026 National Pub & Bar Awards are now open.
