Marston’s has announced its full-year results for the 52-week period to 27 September 2025, delivering another year of revenue and profit growth.
The pub business has delivered a second consecutive year of strong profit growth, with underlying profit before tax up 71.3% to £72.1m (2024: £42.1m), which it says has been driven by new formats, digital innovation and cost efficiencies.
With the latter, the group says it made significant savings as it rolled out enhanced labour scheduling systems, as well as delivering central efficiencies, procurement gains and more efficient repairs and maintenance spend. Marston's also invested in increased marketing expenditure and more specialist roles.
Regarding its approach of rolling out new pub formats, 31 conversions were completed this year, delivering an average revenue uplift of 23%.
The financial year saw the launch of new concepts, including Two Door, Grandstand Locals Sport (pictured) and Woodie’s family pubs.
“We’ve delivered another strong year ahead of plan, executing on our strategy to be a high-margin, highly cash-generative local pub company," says Justin Platt, CEO of Marston’s PLC. "For the second consecutive year, we’ve delivered significant growth in profit, margin and free cash flow, underlining the strength of our market-leading pub operating model and the outstanding work of our teams.
“Guest satisfaction has reached record levels – a fantastic endorsement of the passion and dedication of our people and the quality and consistency they deliver every day. Our new pub formats are performing exceptionally well, clearly demonstrating the growth opportunity ahead and giving us real conviction to scale further."
Events for guests
Marston's says events such as Hasbro Trivial Pursuit partnership, UK’s biggest Oktoberfest celebrations and Tom Shepherd’s limited-edition Best Ever Pub Pie boosted loyalty and reasons to visit, delivering record guest satisfaction.
It also accelerated its digital transformation programme, introducing enhanced Order & Pay across all managed sites, driving a 10% uplift in revenue per transaction.
Looking ahead, Marston's Christmas bookings are currently around 11% ahead of the same point last year.
"We enter 2026 with significant momentum and confidence in our ability to keep driving growth, while delivering great experiences for our guests and creating sustainable value for our shareholders," adds Platt.
