Guinness World Records to open O2 venue
Guinness World Records is opening a competitive socialising space at The O2.
Guinness World Records has announced that it will be opening its first permanent entertainment venue in the UK at The O2 in London.
Set to launch in late 2026, the new 25,000 sq ft venue will combine competitive socialising with record breaking, giving visitors the chance to attempt over 50 official Guinness World Records titles across six challenge areas.
Visitors will also be able to explore the world of record achievements and order themed food and drink.
The move into the competitive socialising space marks the latest diversification of the Guinness World Records business, as it continues to move from publisher to a media and entertainment brand.
"The O2 is one of the most iconic venues in British culture, making it a perfect home for us," says Paul O’Neill, vice president of entertainment at Guinness World Records. "Guinness World Records: London doesn’t just celebrate record breaking, it gives every visitor the unique chance to step up, take part, and potentially become a world record breaker themselves. Unlike any other experience in the UK, we’re offering people the thrill of making history and we can't wait to welcome the public next year."
Join the party
Once open at The O2, Guinness World Records: London joins Mamma Mia! The Party, TOCA Social, Activate, Hollywood Bowl, iFly Indoor Skydiving, and more.
The O2's performance results for leisure in 2025 saw sales up 23% year-to-date (January – October) compared to the same period in 2024. This follows consistent growth in 2024, which saw leisure performance up 10% versus 2023.
"As the world’s most popular music, entertainment and leisure destination, we are delighted to be the location of choice for Guinness World Records’ first permanent UK venue," adds Alistair Wood, executive vice president for real estate and development at AEG Europ. "The O2 has played a leading role in the emergence of competitive socialising nationally, and this new concept elevates our offer to another level, delivering an iconic, nostalgic, and family-friendly favourite to London. We have no doubt that the new venue will be a huge hit with our visitors and look forward to welcoming a new stream of record breakers to The O2 next year."
