Haven to invest £9m in new JDW pubs
Haven will open a further four J D Wetherspoon pubs in spring 2026.
UK holiday park operator Haven will open a further four onsite J D Wetherspoon pubs in spring 2026.
The new pubs build on its exclusive partnership with Wetherspoon, launched in 2024, and bring the total number of Wetherspoon's on Haven’s parks to nine.
Haven will invest £9m in the new pubs, part of a wider £14m programme of upgrades to food and beverage outlets this winter, with the company preparing to welcome up to four million guests in 2026.
The new pubs will open in the spring at Haven’s Cala Gran in Blackpool, Lakeland in Cumbria, Riviere Sands in Cornwall and Hopton in Norfolk.
"Haven is all about giving our customers more of what they love – and our partnership with J D Wetherspoon does just that," says Simon Palethorpe, CEO of Haven. "With these four new J D Wetherspoon, the opening of our new £10m water park at Kent Coast and the renovation of the Marton Mere Show Bar, as well as many other investments in our parks, there are even more reasons to holiday with Haven in 2026."
The franchise so far
The first franchised J D Wetherspoon pub opened in March 2024 at Haven’s Primrose Valley Holiday Park in Filey, north Yorkshire. Following this, four more J D Wetherspoon were built at Haggerston Castle near Berwick, Northumberland, Cleethorpes Beach in Lincolnshire, Devon Cliffs near Exmouth and Kent Coast near Rochester.
Since launching the partnership, Haven and J D Wetherspoon have served 907,000 main meals, 288,000 breakfasts and pulled 692,201 pints across the five sites.
"Our partnership with Haven continues to go from strength to strength," adds Michael Barron, commercial director at J D Wetherspoon. "We are delighted that four new J D Wetherspoon pubs will open at Haven parks in 2026. We are confident that they will prove popular with Haven’s holidaymakers and owners."
