Devon's smallest pub opens

It is set to be one of the smallest licensed pubs in England.

Devon's smallest pub, The Gropers Arms, has opened its doors at Compton Pool. It is set to be one of the smallest licensed pubs in England.

Set within a 14-acre luxury holiday estate near Paignton, The Gropers Arms is a micro-pub housed inside what was once the estate's reception and ice cream parlour.

Measuring just 2.3m by 3.3m, with a 140cm bar, it seats 10 guests indoors and over 20 more on a terrace overlooking landscaped gardens and fishing lakes.

Named after its location on Gropers Lane, the pub serves small-batch Devon spirits, local wines, craft ales and a signature frozen strawberry daiquiri. Simple food options, such as breakfasts, pizzas and smash burgers, will be introduced soon.
