Walkabout offers influencer Big John an apology

Stonegate’s Walkabout reached out to Big John after he was deported from Australia.

Influencer John ‘Big John’ Fisher has been offered an apology from the Stonegate Group brand Walkabout, after the social media star was deported from Australia.

The Aussie bar chain Walkabout is offering Big John an apology "on behalf of Australians up and down the country" in the form of an "Australian Spread" on the house for him and his family. The spread includes Walkabout’s Parmi’s, an Aussie all-dayer breakfast and a kilo of chicken wings.

The brand says it wants to repair relations between Big John and the land down under.

"As soon as we heard the news about Big John being deported from Australia on his birthday, we felt that we needed to do something to apologise on behalf of Australians for what will have been a tough time for the big man," says Stephen Cooper, head of marketing at Stonegate Group. "We want to make things right for Big John on behalf of Aussies in the UK and we know the ‘Australian Spread’ is a feast that will hopefully get Australia back in his good books and make his birthday this year one to remember."

Bosh

Famous for ‘Bosh-ing’ and enjoying large plates of food, Big John has amassed a huge cult following on social media platforms.

Walkabout will also be offering Big John and his family the chance to enjoy some of the brand’s cocktails, such as the Blue Aussie Breeze, the Pina Koala and the Sex on Bondi Beach.

"At Walkabout, we pride ourselves on the best Australian bar experience in the UK," adds Cooper. "From Australian pub classic Parmi’s to Aussie all-dayer breakfasts to our popular bottomless brunch offering, we are proud to be the home of Australian food and drink."

Walkabout is part of the Stonegate Group, which currently operates over 4,500 venues across the UK.
