The Devonshire shows off new private dining rooms
The Devonshire has extended its existing restaurant into an adjacent building in Soho.
The most talked about pub in London has added three new private dining rooms to its offer, increasing its covers by 90.
The Devonshire, led by Oisín Rogers, Charlie Carrol and Ashley Palmer-Watts, extended the existing restaurant into the adjacent building on Sherwood Street in Soho, creating a new, separate entrance for private diners.
Rogers showed Pub & Bar around the vacant space during his interview with the magazine in November 2024.
Interior architecture and design studio Macaulay Sinclair collaborated with The Devonshire on the project.
The three dining rooms are spread across two floors of the building. On the third floor, two interconnected rooms, capable of hosting 25 and 35 guests respectively, form The Blue Room, illuminated by a pair of three-tiered amber glass sconced chandeliers.
On the fourth floor, guests will discover The Bowie Room. This private dining space, accommodating 26 guests, features a pair of large vintage Holophane globe pendants.
"These rooms are about having spaces where guests who need privacy can feel comfortable, safe, happy and well looked after – that same sense of timeless quality and generosity – just in more intimate spaces," says Rogers. "We want people to feel like they’ve discovered something special, while still being properly looked after and leaving us with great memories."
Adding a visual connection to the existing pub, a bespoke sign-written one-way mirror has been integrated within The Devonshire bar, offering a glimpse from the new private dining room entrance into the pub. A new beer hatch within The Devonshire's oak panelling also offers service to guests as they arrive.
