Bloomsbury Club brings in new bar manager

The Bloomsbury Club has named Antonio Papariello as its new bar manager.

The Bloomsbury Club has named Antonio Papariello as its new bar manager, bringing in over a decade of experience from across Italian and London venues.

The bar is part of The Doyle Collection's Bloomsbury Hotel in central London. It is known for its live music and signature cocktails.

Since moving to London in 2015, Papariello has built an impressive career across a number of hospitality and hotel groups, including roles at Bunga Bunga Bar, Blue Bird Chelsea, The Grand Hotel Trafalgar Square and Downstairs Bar at The Dilly.

He has also spent time at The Franklin Hotel as bar manager before moving to The Prince Akatoki.

"The Bloomsbury Club has a reputation as one of London’s most atmospheric bars," he says. "My goal is to build on that legacy with a refreshed cocktail concept that celebrates both technique and storytelling."

It's in the family

Papariello began his career in his family-run bar near the Amalfi Coast aged 10. He then enrolled at the Bartenders Bar Academy of Salerno before he went on to work at a respected bar in southern Italy, where he also competed successfully in national and international bartending competitions.

A World Class GB Top 100 finalist, his focus at The Bloomsbury Club will be on developing a new cocktail menu that balances creativity with innovation.

The Bloomsbury Club reopened on Wednesday 3 September with a new programme of live music and limited edition flights of mini Negronis.
