Revamped community pub in Hull reopens

The pub has been completely transformed to include new furniture, flooring, fixtures and fittings throughout.

The Drake on Bodmin Road in Bransholme, Hull, officially reopened on 10 July following a transformational investment of almost £300,000.

The venue is part of the Proper Pubs estate, the community wet-led operator division of Admiral Taverns, which has more than 200 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales.

Inside, the pub has been completely transformed to include new furniture, flooring, fixtures and fittings throughout. It also has several flatscreen televisions complete with Sky, TNT Sports and horse racing channels.

The refurbished pub now boasts a refreshed main bar, as well as two additional bars, including one in the lounge, which has a karaoke machine, and one in the sports room, which also features a brand-new pool table and darts area.

Outside, The Drake boasts new lighting and signage as well as a spacious, wheelchair-accessible beer garden seating at least 60 people.

Licensee Mike Lincoln comments: “I’m delighted to have taken over The Drake and it’s great to see the fantastic results of the refurbishment. The pub looks amazing, and the opening night was a huge success with lots of great feedback and satisfied customers!"
