Valiant moves McGinty to CEO position
Mark McGinty will succeed Gerry Carroll effective from 1 July 2025.

Community pub operator Valiant Pub Company has promoted its COO Mark McGinty to the CEO position.
McGinty will succeed Gerry Carroll effective from 1 July 2025, who will transition to the role of executive chairman.
The duo co-founded Valiant in partnership with Njord Partners in October 2021. It currently has a portfolio of over 90 pubs across the UK, with a notable presence in North East, North West, Midlands and Wales.
McGinty will now oversee the overall operations and growth of the company. Carroll will focus on strategy, governance and supporting the senior leadership team.
Following senior roles at Enterprise Inns, McGinty and Carroll founded Hawthorn Leisure in 2014, which was eventually sold to Admiral Taverns for a total gross aggregate cash consideration of £222.3m in August 2021.
Valiant says the business is well-positioned to grow rapidly in coming months and bring the its pub experience to even more communities across the UK.
