Duck & Rice to open second site in Battersea
Alan Yau’s The Duck & Rice will launch a second site next month.

As its Soho debut celebrates 10 years since opening, Alan Yau's The Duck & Rice will launch a second site next month.
Opening in Battersea Power Station on 7 July, the concept from the Wagamama and Hakkasan founder brings together British pub culture and Cantonese cuisine.
The original Duck & Rice, established in 2015 on Berwick Street in Soho, transformed the historic Endurance pub, blending the warmth of a traditional English pub with the classic recipes of a Cantonese kitchen.
The new Battersea venue is set to continue this legacy, offering a 185-seat open-plan restaurant featuring an open kitchen and a raised bar area serving beer on tap, cocktails and soft drinks.
Inside, the design takes inspiration from the aesthetic and atmosphere of south China’s Cha Chaan Teng and tea houses, spaces where people gather to ‘yum cha’.
Guests can expect favourites such as the renowned Cantonese House Roast Duck alongside a curated cocktail and beer selection. Designed for sharing, the menu is a celebration of Cantonese comfort food, with hero dishes including Pork & prawn shumai; Curry soft shell crab; Sweet & Sour pork with rice; Vegetable Katsu curry rice; and Laksa Half lobster in Laksa broth.
