Chickpea to open pub with rooms in Dorset

The Chickpea Group will open its eighth pub with rooms in July.

The Chickpea Group will open its eighth pub with rooms next month, taking its total pub estate to 11 venues.

The Fleur de Lys Inn, located in Cranborne, Dorset, dates back to the 17th century, with the Chickpea team already busy restoring the village pub to its former glory.

Founded by Tommy Tullis and Ethan and Jordan Davids (pictured), Chickpea Group also operates its own pizza brand, Nole.

The Fleur de Lys Inn has been closed for six months and is under renovation to create a refreshed layout, retaining as many of the original features as possible, as well as the creation of nine bedrooms upstairs.

"We are so excited to be opening our first pub with rooms in Dorset," says Ethan. "The Fleur de Lys is a lovely boozer in a pretty and thriving village and we’re very pleased to be reopening it for the community and for visitors from further afield. It offers everything we look for in a Chickpea country pub - exposed beams, low ceilings, a number of fireplaces and quintessentially British charm."

Inside and out

The inside will have around 80 covers for drinks and dining, including a private dining room which can accommodate up to 12 guests, with a further 100 covers outside in a walled garden to the rear of the pub.

The main bar will feature exposed beams, an open fire and banquette seating.

As with the group’s existing sites, the team will continue to work with the abundance of local suppliers in the South West and Dorset. Diners can expect the usual ‘Pub Banger’ menu, including double smash burgers, handmade pies and fish and chips, alongside Nole pizzas and an array of bar snacks and puddings.

The Fleur de Lys Inn will open in July 2025.
