Chef Elly Wentworth joins The Millbrook Inn

Chef Elly Wentworth has joined Fowlescombe Farm and its sister pub.

Chef Elly Wentworth has joined Fowlescombe Farm and sister pub The Millbrook Inn as executive chef.

Wentworth, who joins from The Angel restaurant in Dartmouth, will be overseeing both venues from 1 July 2025.

She has also been recognised in a number of competitions throughout her career, becoming a MasterChef the Professionals finalist in 2016 and representing the south west on Great British Menu on three occasions.

At Fowlescombe Farm, a regenerative farm at the foot of Dartmoor, Wentworth will continue to cook to the tune of the seasons in The Refectory, the retreat's dining room, with menus changing daily and spotlighting the farm’s produce. The Millbrook Inn is similarly local in flavour, its menu centred on meats from the farm and local seafood.

Wentworth has been working in kitchens since the age of 13, and has trained and worked in some of the region's best restaurants. She gained experience at the 3 AA rosette Tanners Restaurant in Plymouth under Chris and James Tanner, before continuing her journey in various Michelin-starred kitchens, including The Elephant under Simon Hulstone, The Bybrook at the Manor House under Richard Davies, and Restaurant Hywel Jones at Lucknam Park, and then becoming head chef at The Angel.
