Refurbished Bradford pub set to reopen

The pub has been given brand-new fixtures, fittings, furniture and flooring, all while retaining the character of its original 1900s features.

The Smiling Mule, a traditional village pub in Lower Fagley, Bradford, will officially reopen on 1 June following a £290,000 makeover.

Owned by Admiral Taverns, the revamp has given the venue a new lease of life, enabling licensee Paul Sinclair and his wife to further cement the pub as a community hub for residents.

Internally, the pub has been given brand-new fixtures, fittings, furniture and flooring throughout, all while retaining the character of its original 1900s features, which include two open fires and stone walls. The games room has also been refreshed and features a new pool table.

Externally, The Smiling Mule showcases new lighting and signage, with an updated beer garden seating up to 100 guests. The space consists of both a decked and grassed seating area complete with new wooden furniture, festoon lights and heaters. It also offers a children's play area and BBQ zone.

"I'd like to thank Paul for all his hard work at The Smiling Mule to date and for his support in helping us to bring this refurbishment to life," says Ian Lester, business development manager at Admiral Taverns.

"The pub is looking absolutely incredible already and we're just working on getting those final finishing touches in place ahead of officially reopening in June."
