Favourite pub and bar groups chosen by thousands

Ten pub and bar groups will now make their way to this year’s National Pub & Bar Awards.

Ten pub and bar groups from around the UK have been chosen as guest favourites and will now make their way to this year’s National Pub & Bar Awards.

As part of the 2025 celebration, the National Pub & Bar Awards has once again teamed up with on-premise data leaders CGA to harvest the opinions of some 20,000 consumers, who were all asked specific questions about their experiences within pub and bar groups across the country.

From service standards to the quality of food and drink, the tens of thousands of responses received have determined which 10 groups are now in with a chance of scooping a national award.

On Tuesday 24 June, when hundreds of operators make their way to the grand final at Big Penny Social in London, the nominated businesses will discover which brands will win the Pub Group of the Year and the Bar Group of the Year awards.

Who’s in the running?

The CGA data, which is exclusive to the National Pub & Bar Awards, revealed the 15 favourite businesses from both the pub and bar categories. However, only the top five from each have been invited to the final.

The businesses up for Pub Group of the Year are: Brunning & Price, Camerons, Hydes Brewery, JW Lees (pictured) and RedCat Independent Pubs.

While the Bar Group of the Year shortlist is: ATIK, Blues Kitchen, The Cocktail Club, Manahatta and Mr Fogg’s.

“It’s great to be partnering with CGA again to discover which groups pub and bar goers hold in such high regard,” says Tristan O’Hana, editor of Pub & Bar. “What’s more, how interesting to see that pub perceptions have shifted dramatically since last year’s research, with none of 2024’s top five appearing in this year’s shortlist. Whereas bar groups seem to be more consistent, with Blues Kitchen, The Cocktail Club and Mr Fogg’s all remaining in those top spots.”

The Pub Group of the Year and the Bar Group of the Year winners will be announced at the National Pub & Bar Awards grand final on Tuesday 24 June.

At the event, the County Nominees of 2025 will also be in attendance, waiting to discover if they have gone on to win their County and Regional title or even the prestigious National Pub & Bar of the Year crown.

On top of that, the 2025 event will launch the Top 10 Pubs & Bars in the UK list, which has been voted for by hundreds of operators from across the country.
