Big Penny Social launches new games hall

Flukes is the new games hall located at Big Penny Social.

A Walthamstow venue that's designed to be a 'pub, art centre and town square' all rolled into one has launched another element to its large-scale operation.

Flukes, a new games hall within Big Penny Social, is focused on competitive socialising, featuring classic group games including darts, pool, shuffleboard and karaoke.

The space also contains a brand-new cocktail bar that overlooks the rest of the venue at Big Penny Social, which will host this year's National Pub & Bar Awards on Tuesday 24 June.

"Flukes is a new twist on an old games hall you’d find in social clubs, where technology on darts and shuffleboards gives everyone a chance to win and fun is at the heart of everything," says Big Penny’s managing director Frans Kobus. "We’ve put a lot of work into making sure Flukes is designed and has an ambiance that is unlike any other competitive socialising venue.

"Having this experience on top of everything else on offer in the rest of Big Penny Social will create such a special place which is great for a night out with your partner, a big group of mates, or the whole company."

Highly skilled or pure fluke?

Accessed through a new entrance, Flukes sits in a purpose built 5,000 sq ft space above the UK’s largest beer hall. It has been designed by Hunter’s Daughter, continuing a partnership started with the design of the rest of Big Penny Social.

Guests can choose to play from six interactive darts oches, two interactive shuffleboards, four pro-standard American pool tables, and three karaoke rooms, offering over 11,000 tracks.

The food menu features Big Penny Social’s pizzas alongside sharing plates and platters.

With the National Pub & Bar Awards taking place there this summer, pub and bar operators will soon find out if they've made it to the grand final. Nominees for this year's County Winners will be announced on Thursday 17 April, ahead of the long Easter weekend.
