The parent company of immersive gaming concept Immersive Gamebox has appointed administrators, as the owners seek a buyer for the business.
Despite the experiential economy continuing to boom, the virtual reality brand is now running as a going concern.
Julie Palmer and Andrew Hook of Begbies Traynor were appointed as joint administrators on 11 December 2024. The co-founders of Immersive Group Gaming are Will Dean, CEO and founder of Tough Mudder, and David Spindler, who launched Tough Mudder Bootcamp.
What is Immersive Gamebox?
Immersive Gamebox, which opened its first location in 2019, operates an entertainment and social gaming technology platform, with 32 sites globally.
The technology enables teams of up to six players to compete in interactive arcade games using virtual reality across its venues.
The business maintains that it has significant potential to become the leading global social gaming technology platform.
It currently has eight major international studio content partners, with multiple major IP studios and over 18 game titles, including Squid Games, Angry Birds and Black Mirror Careers.
