Margot Henderson confirms opening date for debut pub

Margot Henderson has confirmed that The Three Horseshoes in Somerset will open on 25 April.

Acclaimed chef and restaurateur Margot Henderson has confirmed that her debut pub The Three Horseshoes in Somerset will open on 25 April, almost a year to the day when the project was first announced

Located in the countryside village of Batcombe, The Three Horseshoes is an 18th century pub, dining room and lodging, which has been restored from its origins and turned into a pub with rooms.

Henderson (pictured) and head chef Nye Smith have created a menu driven by seasonal ingredients from their suppliers. Available from lunch through to late evening, the dining room menu will have a delicate simplicity at its heart, featuring plates of Westcombe Dairy cold cuts; wild garlic and bread broth; grilled Old Spot chop and apple sauce; roast beetroot, goats curd and watercress; double lemon pudding.

The menu will be accompanied by the bar offer, which will boast a range of local ciders, craft beers and a concise wine selection.

"I’ve spent many weekends over the years visiting family and making lifelong friends in the area," says Henderson. "Through these years I’ve become inspired by the rich, quality produce available in Somerset, so I’m excited to be embarking on this journey to the south west and taking advantage of all that is available there."

Originally from New Zealand, Henderson is now one of Britain’s most respected and acclaimed chefs. After training in her home country, she moved to London where she later opened The French House dining room with her husband and founder of St John Fergus Henderson.
