Stonegate prepares for first Amazon Prime fixtures

Stonegate has announced that every one of its sport pubs will be showing all of Amazon Prime Video’s Premier League fixtures this month.

Ahead of tonight’s first set of games, the pub group has said that over 400 of Stonegate’s sports estate will be showing all of the matches on the Premier League Pass via BT Sport, which is giving licensees access to the channel.

Starting tonight, this is the first time that an entire round of games will be shown live in the UK.

“Our mission is to become the market leader for enjoying sport out-of-home,” says Elliott Cantor, digital marketing manager for sports at Stonegate. “Football is most certainly one of our more popular sports and the investment we are making in the Amazon Premier League Pass is certainly worth it. The amount of fixtures during what would normally be quieter trading days will give us a fantastic return.

“There are a few Premier League fixtures that are happening at concurrent times – on Boxing Day, there are six matches all happening at 3pm – and the majority of our sports pubs will be able to show at least four of these games.”

Stonegate Pub Company is the largest privately held managed pub operator in the UK, with revenues in excess of £800m and over 14,500 employees.
